Platform Technology Provider Netbiscuits Deepens Partnership with Latcel

Sep. 04, 2008

On the heels of its announced partnership earlier this month with LatCel, a provider of wireless content services in the U.S. Hispanic market, platform technology provider NetBiscuits tells Portada that it is extending this partnership to extend into Latin America.

NetBiscuits Managing Director Ran Farmer points to a new initiative with LatCel that brings the company’s platform into Argentina and Brazil. LatCel’s daughter company, Caracas-based WauMovil, which provides Latin content to Sprint, is assisting with the deployment.

Founded in Germany, with offices in Weston, Virginia, and Singapore, NetBiscuits provides the basic framework for content providers, publishers and developers to launch mobile sites. “A number of Hispanic mobile marketing agencies have been utilizing our platform to launch campaigns in the U.S. Hispanic market,” Farmer tells Portada.

“Our technology makes it possible for an agency or a publisher to develop a simple WAP site themselves,” he adds. Farmer says that whereas a sophisticated, multi-layered mobile site used to take months to develop, the same site can now be launched through NetBiscuits in a matter of days.

According to Farmer, all mobile properties Yahoo! has launched this year have been done with Netbiscuits’ platform. The company also hosts Ebay’s mobile destination. The cost for hosting one’s mobile site ranges from $645/month to $2600 per month, depending on the scope and sophistication of the site.
