Todobebe Expands in Latin America and Spain

August 14, 2007

Todobebe, a media company dedicated to pregnancy and parenting announced its expansion into Spain, Colombia, Mexico and Guatemala.

In Spain, Todobebe signed a format license deal with the TV production and distribution company DRIVE Television, S.L. which will be producing and adapting the Todobebe TV show for broadcast in Spain.

In Colombia Todobebe joins forces with Caracol, the largest media company in Colombia, to launch a summer run of Todobebe TV on Caracol Television nationwide. The Todobebe segments are co-hosted by Humberto Rodriguez (El Gato) and Karen Martinez from the Todobebe studio and air every day within the morning show Dia a Dia. The deal expands the agreement first launched between Caracol and Todobebé in the summer of 2006, and brings Johnson & Johnson into the mix as an advertising partner.

In Mexico Televisa Networks extended its licensing agreement with Todobebe to include more episodes and more frequent airings. Todobebe also closed a video licensing agreement with the Mexican video publishing and distribution company Tycoon Entertainment Group S.A. de C.V., to release Todobebe videos in Mexico. Todobebe TV capsules are also rolling out in Mexico with Canal Angeles, the closed circuit TV network broadcast nationwide in 16 hospitals, as part of a broader content and marketing deal with Canal Angeles and Mediks.com, the premier health website of Hospitales Angeles, owned by Mexican conglomerate Grupo Empresarial Angeles. The Todobebe book, published in May in the U.S., also launched in Mexico and is now available in retail stores and airports nationwide. Todobebé and its co-host and Editor in Chief Jeannette Kaplun kick off a Todobebé promotions tour in Mexico City last weekend, with a special event for moms and babies hosted by Mexican Retailer Liverpool.  The tour builds on a new TV season that included special segments with Mexican celebrity and new mom Issabela Camil, and Todobebé co-host Karen Martinez. In October, Todobebé's third DVD in 2007 hits stores nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Sanborn's, and more.

In Guatemala, Guatevisión signed a renewal agreement with Todobebé, to continue to air the TV shows nationwide on a weekly basis. The first season began in June and its success led to the early renewal. Todobebé has brought three new advertisers in the baby segment to Television for the first time in Guatemala.
